Moscow Adventures

We have just finished a full day and a half of visiting Moscow! The weather could not have been nicer for us. It was supposed to have been rainy the whole weekend, but some light sprinkles are all we have seen.

The phrases "Time is Money" and "The Wait will kill me" have taken on a whole new meaning for me this trip. First, our train was three hours late and we took two hours to change the time of our departure tickets, and for those five hours which our driver waited for us, we had to pay something like $12 an hour! It was not our fault that the train was late, but due to the train system there was no way for the driver to know what time we would actually arrive, so I do understand why we had to pay. I just did not like it! And then our tour guide Sunday morning, also said that because he waited for us (we had gotten just a little bit lost and had to walk a bit so were a bit late to meet him) that we had to pay for that time too.

Anyways, *smiles* Moscow is beautiful. We have been having a great time here. It is nice to be able to take things slowly. Our apartment is just one metro stop away from Red Square, or about 5 blocks walk down Tetrasky Street the main street of Moscow. We took a private taxi tour this morning and saw a great amount of Moscow. Then we walked a bit around ourselves and found the Lenin Library which is the main library in Moscow. Unfortunately it was on Sunday so it was closed. We also walked Arbot street which is the main Souvenir shopping street. It is a beautiful walk, unfortunately they are doing a lot of construction on the cobble stone walk way now.

Tomorrow we had back on the train at 1pm and arrive in Kiev at 1am. So excited about that! Wish us luck.
